  14.      This program is the result of hundreds of hours of labor. 
  15. If you find it useful please take the time to drop me a line, or
  16. :-) make a $mall donation to offset the ire of my spouse (for time
  17. spent locked in my room computing). The Shareware format is fast
  18. becomming the ST users main method for getting new software. 
  19. Please support it.
  20.      
  21.      Most of the features of the program functions  are readily 
  22. apparent, but for those features which are not, the following 
  23. documentation is included for your convenience. The flow of the 
  24. documentation will follow the flow of the menu items.
  25.  
  26. I. INFO
  27.      A. LOOK: FOR VANITY PURPOSES ONLY.
  28. II. FILE
  29.      A. LOAD: Will load any uncompressed Degas or Neochrome 
  30. picture into Magnus. Will also load any compressed Crackart 
  31. Picture.
  32.      B. SAVE AS .NEO/PI1/CA1: Will save picture in current workscreen 
  33. as either a .NEO OR .PI1 uncompressed picture file, or in 
  34. compressed Crackart format "CA1".
  35.      C. LOAD VIDI PAL: Load Vidi Palette from Disk.
  36.      D. QUIT: Returns control to the ST Desktop.
  37. III. OPTIONS
  38.      A. X1,X2,X4,X8,X10: Prints the current workscreen to the 
  39. printer and will enlarge it by the multiplier selected. In the 
  40. Horizontal mode it will be a 8x10 multiple. In the Vertical mode 
  41. it will be a 5.5x8 multiple.
  42.      B. HORIZONTAL/VERTICAL: This option has been provided to be 
  43. used with the Degas printer driver accessory. If Horizontal was 
  44. selected from the driver loader then Magic Print must be placed in 
  45. the Horizontal mode. If Vertical was selected from the driver 
  46. loader then Vertical must be selected in Magic Print. If you don't 
  47. have the Degas printer installer this option must be in the 
  48. Vertical mode. If you have installed your own printer driver you 
  49. may still be able to use the horizontal mode. If your printer 
  50. driver prints horizontally that is.
  51.      C. INDIVIDUAL/CONTINUOUS: For most printing you will want to 
  52. be in the CONTINUOUS mode. This will print out your enlarged 
  53. pictures like strips of wall paper, making it very easy for you to 
  54. put them together. The INDIVIDUAL mode will print your enlarged 
  55. picture out in individual squares. This is a little more work but 
  56. for some applications it may be preferable. If your Printer Driver
  57. does auto form feeds this function is invalid.
  58.      D. CLEAR: Clears only the current workscreen.
  59. IV. SPECIAL
  60.      A. WORK 1: Clicking here activates the picture in workscreen 
  61. one and allows for printing and editing of picture data.
  62.      B. WORK 2: Clicking here activates the picture in workscreen  
  63. two and allows for printing and editing of picture data.
  64.      C. CUT: Allows for Cutting out a section of picture for later 
  65. Pasting to either workscreen.
  66.      D. PASTE: Allows for pasting of a previously cut section of a 
  67. picture. To exit this option move mouse to the right hand corner 
  68. of the screen and press the right button.
  69.      E. EXPAND PASTE: Will expand a previously cut section of 
  70. picture to the size determined by a rubber box you set on screen. 
  71. If the size of your box is smaller than the original cut the paste 
  72. will be aborted and you will have to set a new expand area. To 
  73. exit this option move mouse to the right hand corner of the screen 
  74. and press the right button.
  75.      F. PALETTE: Allows for the changing of current palette 
  76. information. This applies only to the current workscreen selected. 
  77. If a mistake is made you may reset the single color you are 
  78. working on to the default color.
  79.      G. COLOR EXCHANGE: Allows for the replacement of one color 
  80. for another or the swapping of two colors. This can affect the 
  81. whole screen or a zone selected by you.
  82.           1. SETTING COLORS: The first selection you will make is 
  83. the colors to be affected. The colors can be selected either from 
  84. the options window, the screen, or a combination of both.
  85.           2. SWAP COLORS: This option will search for instances of 
  86. color one and change them to color two, it will also search for 
  87. instances of color two and change them to color one. If you select 
  88. WHOLE SCREEN then the whole screen will be affected. You may stop 
  89. the process at any time by pressing the right button. You can then 
  90. either elect to keep what has been completed, redo the whole 
  91. process, or abort and return to the main menu. If you selected the 
  92. ZONE option only that portion of screen which was outlined will be 
  93. affected.
  94.           REPLACE COLOR: This option will look for all instances 
  95. of color one and replace them with color two. It differs from the 
  96. previous example in that color two is left as it is. WHOLE SCREEN 
  97. and SET ZONE function in the same manner as described above.
  98.      H. GRAB VIDI: If you are the proud owner of the Vidi ST 
  99. digitizer you can grab continous images from your VCR or Video 
  100. camera. 
  101.           1. Vidi Menu: Once into this mode, pressing the space 
  102. key will bring up a window with some options on it. These 
  103. options are:
  104.                a. Brightness: Adjusts the brightness of the 
  105. incomming images. To adjust place the mouse pointer over the 
  106. icon and press the left button to increment, and the right button 
  107. to decrement brightness.
  108.                b. Offset: Sets the number of lines from the top of 
  109. the screen that the image will begin.
  110.                c. Aspect: 0 aspect is normal full screen. 1 aspect 
  111. squashes the incomming image somewhat.
  112.                d. Exit: Exits back to the main program.
  113.                e. Grab Vidi: Continues the process of capturing 
  114. incomming video signals.
  115.           H. Grab Vidi(cont):
  116.                f. Vidi Delay: Adjusts the amount of time the 
  117. system waits before grabbing the next frame of video.

  119. V. FINAL EXCUSES AND DISCLAIMER: What happens to this program next 
  120. depends entirely upon the user base that develops. I can add 
  121. virtually any options that may be suggested by those who take time to 
  122. request them in sufficient numbers.

  127. VI. ADDITIONAL INFO: In order to make the best use of this program 
  128. the use of the Printer installer written by Tom Hudson is 
  129. suggested. The printer drivers are available on any bulletin board 
  130. and will allow for those who own color printers to print in color.
  131. You may of course use a printer driver of your own, that is of 
  132. course if it uses the Hardcopy function of the ST Operating 
  133. System.
